We are frequently blessed here in the office with phone calls from Marines in Iraq after they've received care packages from MarineParents.com. We are always elated to get those phone calls and love hearing from our Marines overseas.
There are occassions when those phone calls come in late at night or over the weekend when no one is here to take the call. Though we are heartbroken to miss these calls, we always save the messages on the answering machine. With the technological help from one of our Marine father volunteers, we've now got three of them online to share with you.
The first phone message is from a Marine who has received 7 cases of the Girl Scout Cookies® from us for his platoon. We ship hundreds of cases every spring. In March and May of 2007 we shipped a little more than 400 cases.
The second phone message is from another Marine in Iraq that received a care package from our June 9, 2007 packing date.
The third message is from a Marine who was serving in Iraq during the spring and fall of 2008 and was the recipient of our care packages from April and June.
To listen to the phone call, click the start button in the control panel just under the image to your right. This is an MP3 file and should play from most computers if you're running a windows-based operating system and have a decent internet connection.
Transcript of the phone message, Sound File 1:
