Added July 8, 2014

Thank you for support of the troops sponsoring care packages each month in the Care Package Project. We appreciate your ongoing support.

As the needs of our warriors evolve over time, so too do our methods of providing support to these warrriors. Our newest outreach program, Wounded, Ill and injured Warrior Support Team combines elements of three of our previous programs, including the care package project. The mission of WIIWST is to provide resources, support, fellowship and social events to WII Warriors, active duty and veterans.

Help Our Marines Beat the Heat!
Added June 20, 2014

Even though Marines are tougher than most of us, they still get hot (especially when summer temperatures in Afghanistan routinely hover around 110 degrees), and it's our goal to help keep them cool and comfortable this summer.

We'll be packing 400 care packages for Marines in Afghanistan this July 19 and we want to include Frogg Toggs and high-electrolyte drink mix tablets for our heroes in each box. Our deployed Marines need to know that we're behind them, and we need your help to meet our goal!

Military Appreciation Month 500 Flags Campaign
Added April 10, 2014

By the end of 2014 all American troops are scheduled to be withdrawn from Afghanistan, and the longest military conflict in our country's history will finally come to an end.

To commemorate this historic moment, we'd like to offer Marine supporters the opportunity to purchase an American flag to send to Afghanistan at our April 26 Care Package Project pack day in honor of Military Appreciation Month in May.

The idea is simple-we pack and ship 500 American flags to 500 deployed Marines on our next pack day so those Marines are able to fly their flag over their last base in Afghanistan before this tour of duty ends.

 Ephesians 6:15 Sock Ministry
Added October 22, 2013

In 2008, Karen Del Tatto began searching for a safe and secure support group to help her get through her Marine son-in-law’s deployment to Afghanistan. "I looked into 501(c) Charities and found the MarineParents.com board," she says. "It was a network that allowed me to relate and help, and it gave me some reassurance while Garrett was deployed."

During a phone conversation with Garrett while he was in Afghanistan, he informed Karen that having new, clean socks was a much-desired luxury in combat zones. Upon learning this, Karen did some research and discovered Covert Threads, a company co-founded by a Marine Corps veteran that specializes in producing comfortable, durable military socks (their motto is “A sock for every clime and place!”).

He thought that they needed things more than he did, so his mom requested in the birthday invitation that guests pick items from our Care Package Project™ needed items list instead of bringing presents for Aedyn. A Marine Mom Sends Her Heart Overseas  A Marine Mom Sends Her Heart Overseas
Added May 4, 2011

On our April 30th pack day our Care Package Project™ coordinator asked me to help a Marine mom who wanted to pack a care package for her son, who was deploying that very morning from Hawaii. It was his first deployment, confirmed by the pained expression on his mother’s face. I told her she could pack the box with whatever content she found on our packing lines and offered to hold the box for her while she perused the items and placed them inside. She politely but firmly declined my offer, and I worried later that my offer had been somewhat insensitive, though that wasn’t my intent.
